AEI hosts a panel, moderated by Naomi Schaefer Riley, on the impact of parental substance use on child safety and infant mortality, including data from the Lives Cut Short project and a legislative change in New Mexico. Panelists include principal investigators Sarah Font and Emily Putnam-Hornstein as well as experts from Texas Children’s Hospital and the New Mexico Senate. The event will discuss causes, policy interventions, and new research on keeping infants safe.
